Fantasy that’s fast, human, and hits where it hurts (in a good way).
Shadow of the All-Tree
The Korporation sells Earth’s most sought-after commodity: entry into their exclusive afterlife, Haven. The cost– a lifetime of servitude.

Eli is a simple labourer in the hierarchy of the Korporation, watching life pass him by as he toils at the Historical Research Department—a group mandated to find Ancient technologies.

When his mother succumbs to an incurable ailment, her dream of entering Haven is painfully out of reach. Eli yearns to save her soul; an impossibility until he meets Zareb; a creature from myth and legend, a dragon.

The dragon's help comes at a price, they must accomplish the Department’s ultimate goal, to find the Ancient weapon that can destroy the dreaded Stain; an evil monster-infested forest spreading across the land.

But not everyone wants to see the Stain destroyed; the Department must grapple with shadowy forces determined to keep the weapon from being found, while painfully aware that each delay brings Eli's mother closer to death.

About Me
What type of person spends their days writing of imaginary worlds and people?
Matthew Teague is an Australian fantasy author writing fast-paced, emotionally rich stories about rebellion, love, and flawed heroes finding their way in a broken world.

A corporate drone by day and storyteller by night, he’s obsessed with twisting plots, ensemble casts, and characters who feel so real you want to hug—or slap—them.

His short story The Appetite of Fate was longlisted for the 2022 Mogford Food & Drink Prize. In 2023, he workshopped his debut novel with legendary fantasy author Isobelle Carmody, where he explored the intersection of post-apocalyptic fantasy, dragons, and dangerously tangled love triangles.

Right now, he’s hard at work on that debut — a tale of caste systems, corrupted history, and a mysterious world-devouring force called the Stain.

When he’s not worldbuilding or plotting emotional damage, you’ll find him nerding out with his wife over Avatar: The Last Airbender or rewatching Friends with a cup of coffee.

Matthew writes for readers who love magic, meaning, and a good laugh in between the heartbreak.
